10 days to go: what the Jeu de Paume preparing for summer 2026
Chamonix Mont-Blanc — The summer season opens on June 12 in the heart of the hamlet of Lavancher.
The gardens have been raked. The fire pit is waiting. The swimming pool of spa is still holding its breath. In ten days, on June 12, 2026, the Chalet Hotel Jeu de Paume reopens the doors for its summer season — the one we wait for here like we wait for long days, the first barbecues on the terrace and the return of brunch facing the Aiguilles du Mont-Blanc.
This year's summer vintage stands out: new menu at the restaurant The Rosebud, signed by chef Mathilde Walisko and crowned with her first Ecotable macaron taken off in February; brunches and barbecues with a twist à The Lavancher Table ; redesigned treatment card au spa and nine formulas designed to punctuate every moment of the day. A look at the new features, ten days before the opening.
A chalet awakening — Lavancher, antechamber to Mont Blanc
Ten minutes from the center of Chamonix, the hamlet of Lavancher is a well-kept secret passed down among regulars. A few stone houses, a stream flowing down from the Mer de Glace glacier, meadows where marmots still whistle in late spring. It is here, in this fold of the valley, that the hotel Jeu de Paume laid its foundations — chalet in wood and stone, lounges in blond woodwork, gardens open to the Aiguilles.
In winter, Le Lavancher is the tipping point between the hustle and bustle of Chamonix and the silence of the peaks. In summer, it becomes a balcony. People come for the food, for the spaFor peace and quiet. And now also for a cuisine that measures its footprint, its distances and its producers — a commitment that the label Eco-friendly came to recognize it a few months ago.
At Rosebud, a summer menu designed by Mathilde Walisko
Le restaurant The Rosebud is the bistronomic jewel of the house. In the kitchen, the chef Mathilde Walisko — European runner-up in offal products, ten years of cooking experience in Lyon before moving to the mountains — creates a bold, Alpine-inspired cuisine deeply rooted in its terroir. Local flavors, regional specialties, herbs and spices take center stage: the summer menu highlights skillful technique and the spirit of the market.
In February 2026, The Rosebud landed its first Ecotable macaron, a label for restaurants committed to sustainable cuisine. More than an award, it's a framework: short supply chains, strict seasonality, animal welfare, 100% of suppliers audited on the IMPACT scientific platform. The summer menu about to leave the kitchens has been built on these foundations — and on the conviction, as Mathilde likes to remind us, that "Every guest is a friend; our only ambition is to make them happy.".

At La Table du Lavancher, brunch on the terrace is back!
The other address, more of a bistro, more sunny. The Lavancher Table — these are the mountain breakfasts, the weekend brunches that stretch into the afternoon, the summer barbecues. This season, the offering is simpler and more coherent. Brunch becomes Brunch & Barbecue A barbecue, prepared by the chef, is now included in the set menu. Lunch follows the same principle — the dish of the day is a barbecue.
Brunch is served on Friday, Saturday and SundayIn summer, in the hotel gardens, in the shade of the large trees and facing the mountain range. Golden pastries prepared every morning by our pastry chef, mature cheeses from Savoy, charcuterie from the valley, fresh fruit, elaborate hot dishes, homemade desserts by Mathilde — a generous buffet, to be explored freely, in the spirit of a large alpine table.
Au spaa revamped treatment menu
Le spa du Jeu de Paume It's one of those places that's passed on in whispers. Heated indoor pool, hammam, sauna, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, espaThis is a place of rest facing the peaks. Few people, natural light, noble materials. You come for a few hours, you leave feeling like you've had a long dive.
For the 2026 season, the treatment and massage menu The range has been completely revamped: clarified titles, enriched descriptions, and updated signature treatments. Classic massages—Californian, Balinese, Abhyanga, Lomi Lomi, Thai, and Shiatsu—are still available, along with targeted treatments (back, legs, and lymphatic drainage), hot stone massages, lymphatic drainage, and foot and cranial reflexology. Three new facial treatments have been added to the selection, all centered around a hydration and signature massage approach.
